Terms and Conditions
The rules for using this site, written to be read rather than to be survived. Plain sections, no clause numbers, and the advertising terms stated in full.
Using this site
These terms cover Bench and every page on it: the tools, the blog, and the pages around them. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, the remedy is the one you already have — close the tab.
The site is run by Moana Crab, who can be reached at moanacrab7610@gmail.com about anything on this page.
The tools, and what they produce
Every tool on the site is free to use, for personal or commercial work, with no account and no attribution required.
What a tool produces belongs to you. A converted image, a generated password, a colour value, a reformatted document — none of it is licensed back to me, none of it is watermarked, and none of it comes with conditions attached. You are responsible for what you do with it.
The site may change, and tools may be added, altered or removed. There is no promise that any particular tool will still exist or behave the same way next month.
Advertising, cookies and consent
This site is free to use and is paid for by advertising. Advertising on the site is served through Google, including Google AdSense, and may include personalised advertising based on your prior activity across other sites.
Third-party vendors, Google included, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info. Where the law in your country requires it, you will be asked for consent before any advertising cookie is set, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Advertising is the only third-party content on this site. No tool on the site sends what you type or drop into it to anyone, and no advertising script has access to it. The privacy policy sets out the detail.
What you may not do
Do not use the site in a way that damages it or stops other people using it: no automated scraping at a volume that degrades the service, no attempts to take the site down, and no attempts to inject code into it.
Do not use the tools to break the law, and do not use them to harm anyone. That includes using the hash and encoding tools to disguise material that is illegal where you are.
Do not present the site, or a copy of it, as your own work.
No warranty
The site and every tool on it are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy.
The arithmetic behind each tool is documented and checked, and the disclaimer says where each one stops being trustworthy. Even so, no guarantee is given that any output is correct, complete or suitable for your purposes. Check anything that matters before you rely on it.
No guarantee is given that the site will be available, uninterrupted or free of errors.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything it produces — including lost data, lost profit, or damage to a device or a document.
This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded by law, and it does not apply where the loss results from something done deliberately or with gross negligence.
Links to other sites
The site links out to other places, and advertising on the site leads to other places. Those sites are not under my control and I am not responsible for what they contain, what they do with your information, or whether they are still there.
A link is not an endorsement. Where a link appears in an article it is there because it supports the point being made, not because anyone paid for it.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the site changes — most visibly if advertising is introduced, altered or removed. The version on this page is the version that applies.
The date below is the date of the last change. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the terms as they then stand.
Questions about any of this
If something on this page is unclear, or you want to know how it applies to what you are doing, write to moanacrab7610@gmail.com. The privacy policy covers what the site does with information, and the disclaimer covers where each tool stops being worth trusting.
